Tacky Boardtest - Nitro Team Series 159 Gullwing

Le Glacier 3000, Switzerland, 9/15/2009 by Anthonie de Vries
Nitro has a very large collection of decks with a very wide range. This deck is from the Team Series, which is designed to be a lightweight do it all freestyle board that can handle any condition. The speciality of 'The Gullwing' is the negative camber which will help you get more technical in the park and even on streets.

Board specifications
Size: 159
Type: All terrain
Shape: Directional twin
Base: Hi-Def FH base
Technical features:
Powercore, Bi-Lite Laminates, Dual Degressive sidecut, Profile tip, Hi-Def FH base, Gullwing camber.

Test results
Flex/Stiffness 1-10 (1 is flexible, 10 is stiff)
6/7
The team series don't feel to stiff or to flexible. Of course you will need some kilo's to flex this board since it is a 159. Overall our testers feel like the balance between the flex and stiffness is perfect in this board.

Pop 1-10
6

Average pop. Just like you would expect it from this board. No hassle to tap an ollie anywhere from pow to slush.

Terrain 1-10(1 not suited, 10 most suited)
Rails - 8
Kicker - 8
Slope - 8
You can ride this board anywhere and it feels like it is designed for it! That's why our testers all give at least an eight for every terrain.

Looks
First thing you notice looking at this board is the amount of details and the super decent look of the Team Series and pretty much every Nitro deck you pick up. The board looks solid, meaning it wont break when you let it fall on the ground or anything. The topsheets has a lot of details which come out of the deck as highlights, making the deck look super luxurious. The graphics are available both in black and white.

Technical features
Nitro has one technical feature they call 'Hi-Def FH base' which make the base fast, durable with low maintenance. The special technical feature is of course the Gullwing camber. This special kind of camber, or rocker if you want to call it that, "relieves the pressure towards the contact points giving the board a loose ride just like a drifting car", acording the Nitro manual. Our testers like it on this board, but needed some time to get adjusted to it, like our French tester Joe said; "She requires a bit of time to feel good with, but after some scary times you’ll got a really good feeling".

Extras
You can ride the Team Series from 162 to 152, with or without camber and for people with big feet they offer a wide model for every size!

Pros
Very durable, all terrain, Gullwing camber feels nice and a lot wide range of sizes, looks and waist. It's like the perfect woman, she can do everything and she is not high maintenance!

Cons
Maybe for some people this board would be to average and balanced.

Who is this board for? Level 1-10
4-8

You can pick this board up as a beginner and start shredding the park. If you have some skills this board will transfer that to tricks!

Remarks:
On of our testers remarked; "Yeah!".

Happiness Factor 1-10 (how much did our testers like this board)
8

'Yeah'.
