Tacky Board Test - Nitro Cheryl Maas 149

Le Glacier 3000, Switzerland, 9/22/2009 by Anthonie de Vries
Holland's Cheryl Maas has plenty of style and big tricks up her sleeve. Her pro model on Nitro is one of the most serious ladies boards on the market and our testers really liked it.

Board specifications
Length: 146, 149, 153
Type: All terrain
Shape: Directional twin
Base: Sintered speed formula base
Technical features:
Powerlite Core, BI-Lite Laminates, Dual degressive sidecut, Profile tip, Railkiller edge, Sintered speed formula base.

Test results
Flex/Stiffness 1-10 (1 is flexible, 10 is stiff)
7/8
This isn’t your average ladies board. You’re going to have to work had to ride down the mountain, but you’ll get lots of support during your turns and while popping your tricks.

Pop 1-10
9

All our female testers gave the board a 9 for pop, this almost makes it the most ‘poppy’ board of the test!

Terrain 1-10(1 niet suited, 10 best suited)
Rails - 9
Kicker - 8
Slopes - 7
One of our testers gave this board a 10 for rails but a low grade for slopes. This is a real park board and not really an board to do some easy cruising.

Looks
For the topsheet, Cheryl has picked a mix between her love for cats, a punk attitude and an admiration for David Bowie. The results make a really cool board, the colours and the three available sizes make this board the perfect choice!

Technical features
This boards technical features make it absolutely ready for the park! Thicker and better edges for durability with the ‘railkiller edges’, and the Powerlite core makes the board really light, but at the same time, it gives you a lot of pop and control. The Sintered Speed Formula Base makes sure that you’ve got a super fast and almost maintenance free base!

Extras
Thinner, softer nose & tail.

Pros
Good for real technical park riding, pretty aggressive, good balance on rails. A twin shape and the ‘dual digressive sidecut’ give this board everything that a kick-ass girl needs. This is the perfect board for the ladies who aim to ride at the Maas level!

Cons
Hard to ride for beginner to average riders, not really suited for freeriding.

Who’s this board for? Level 1-10
8-10

For progressive, technical riders.

Remarks:
One of our testers was really enthusiastic about the twin tip and the soft nose & tail.

Happiness Factor 1-10 (How happy did this board make our testers?)
7-9

One of our testers thought that she wasn’t powerful or heavy enough for the board. She said;”This is the perfect board for strong girls who like to ride park!”.
Another tester said;”This board deserves a recommendation! It’s a real rocket for ladies who want to explode in the park. Great pop, but watch out so you don’t overshoot your landing!”.
